Ted Russ writes military fiction and sci-fi. He is the author of Spirit of the Bayonet — a near-future military sci-fi series — as well as the standalone military thrillers Spirit Mission and Duty's Cost.

In a distant prior life, he served as an army officer after graduating from West Point, leaving the military in 2000 with experience as a special operations helicopter pilot and a philosophy degree.

Possessing no marketable skills, he went back to school and got an MBA. The next 25 years took him through startups and Fortune 500s, expat assignments, general management, sales, and M&A. He discovered writing late and published his first novel in 2016.

Known for fiction that is both technically authentic and deeply human, Ted's books ask hard questions about loyalty, duty, and good people in impossible situations.

Ted now lives in the Carolina mountains with his wife Anna, their dogs Charlie and Ripple, and a bunch of chickens and bees.
